Who We Are
The Minnesota Young DFL (MYDFL) was founded in 1947 by William Kubicek, a medical student at the University of Minnesota’s Twin Cities campus. MYDFL quickly grew into one of the most influential and active constituency caucuses within the Minnesota DFL Party.

As the official youth caucus of the Minnesota DFL Party, MYDFL’s mission is to engage young Democrats to participate in Minnesota and national politics, identifying and advancing progressive issues, developing and supporting young candidates, sustaining community partnerships, and developing leadership in young progressive Minnesotans.

MYDFL empowers young people, giving them a voice to advocate for youth issues. MYDFL offers young people the leadership experience they need to excel in politics, non-profits, and community.
